Roses are . . . . . .

Well in this case they start out orange and yellow and finish up this lovely pink colour. They are only small but they grow in clusters so make a beautiful show. I forget their name but if anyone wants to know I'll ask my husband . . . . . . . . .who is the expert in all things gardening.

                                                                                                              (texture by Leslie Nicole)

Sometimes when I put a texture on a photo I have to try various ones before I find one that seems to fit but as soon as I used this texture I knew it was right . . . .don't you love it when that happens . .

So, I hope you enjoy it and it brightens up your Monday,

Love Teresa xx:-)

A teacup . . . .and a feature . . . about my photography !! Woo Hoo . . .

Well, as you can imagine I am absolutely thrilled to be the subject of a feature by LESLIE NICOLE . Just click on the following link if you want to have a look. FEATURE

I use the textures Leslie creates a lot in my work . . .they are beautiful and inspirational . . .so I was thrilled when she asked if she could use some of my photos and write about the way I use the textures.

So what's the teacup to do with all this . . . . Well the teacup and saucer (my favourite by the way) are featured in the photo below which is the lead photo in the article. . . . Well I think that's quite neat anyway :-))

As you can tell I am so excited . . . this is the first time anything like this has happened to me. . . . .happy sigh

Have a great Sunday, Teresa xx :-)

Three's a crowd

I felt like a little whimsy for the start of the weekend . . . .

"Three's a Crowd"

Memories . . . . .of a lovely day

During the summer two girlfriends and myself took a day trip to the island of Kalymnos. We had a wonderful day travelling all over the island and ended up at lunchtime at a small harbour where we had a long leisurely lunch.
After lunch I wandered about with my camera and this is one of the shots I took. The roof with the bougainvillea climbing all over it is the taverna where we ate lunch.

I've done various bits and pieces on this to get the look I wanted including adding textures by Kim Klassen.

I'm linking up with Pixel Dust Photo Art for Photo Art Friday so I'll see you there. Time for breakfast now :-)
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

TT time

It's time to post this weeks piece of work over at KimKlassenCafe and as the storms have now cleared from here I wanted something bright and cheerful to celebrate.

Here it is  . . . . ."delightful daisies"

The two textures I used were "lifesgood" and "serious magic"

I missed last weeks get together but am so pleased Kim had a wonderful time . . . . .can't wait to see what you've all posted.

Happy Tuesday, Teresa xx :-)

Cosmic . . . . . .

Well . . . my cosmic flowers  . . .so titled because I thought they looked as though they were floating through space.

This is my entry for Photo Art Friday and I used two of Bonnie's textures "drops of Jupiter" and "abstract splotches"

The weather has warmed up here after a really cold spell so Winter is postponed for a bit :-))  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Stormy weather

Not today, thankfully but a picture of the wind whipping up the sea in the previous weeks storm.

I had prepared this for Texture Tuesday over at Kim Klassen cafe because I hadn't read the instructions properly . . . .Kim is away this week and there's no Texture Tuesday until next Tuesday . . . .  . but I thought I would post it anyway.

Has anyone else been as silly as me ????

More flowery food . . .

I remember all of my holidays in reference to the meals I've eaten during the trip . . . . you know . . . . do you remember Tours? ah yes, that's where we had that beautiful "isle flotant" for pudding. I don't know if it's just me but I suspect not :-)

So it comes as no surprise to me that I often connect flowers with food as with yesterdays "strawberries and cream". Well today we have "rose meringue" . . .there was just no other title when I'd finished.

Hope you enjoy a peek

Early Autumn Sun

We had ferocious storms last weekend, thunder, lightning, gale force winds but yesterday and toady the sky is blue and the weather is balmy. . . . maybe not for long though because it's due to change tomorrow for another few days.

Someone once asked me how I cope with the monotony of blue skies all summer long (I apologise to anyone who has had poor summer weather). I replied that I love it . . . not the heat . . .hot is hot and shade and cool are better . . . . but even though the sky is blue every day feels different. For example the wind changes dramatically from one day to the next as does the humidity and each day has a different feel to it whether sunny or cloudy.

This photo which I've called "strawberries and cream" reminds me of all that I love about warm weather . . . . particularly sitting in the shade with a cool drink and a good book . . . .and the thought of a nice meal to come . . . . .I've got simple tastes.

Hope you enjoy it

Rescued . . . .

This little dahlia was the last one of the summer and with gale force winds and storms forecast . . . .yes the storm that took out our phone and internet for a few days  . . . . . I decided to rescue it and brought it inside to finish flowering.

This is my shot of it with the added textures.

"Dancing Daisies"

Woo hoo, my internet is fixed . . . .so, in celebration I've posted this piece of work "Dancing Daisies" . . . . . it matches my mood :-))

The daisies were growing wild in a field and were sparkling as the sun began to dry off the droplets.

Hope you enjoy them and they bring some cheer to your day as well.

Red Tuesday

Red is the theme over at http://www.kimklassencafe.com/thecafe/ for Texture Tuesday

What did I choose ? A red rose of course which should be of no surprise to anyone who is beginning to get to know me a little :-)

This was a beauty taken in the garden in the Spring. Because the summers are so hot my flower photography kind of gets put on hold from July to Sept so I'm waiting with baited breath for the recent rain to start producing blooms again.

I used two of Kims textures "light paper" and "serious magic".

My internet problems continue . . . . . . . a fault developed on Friday which resulted in a dead phone and no internet and was compounded on Sunday when the telephone line in the road snapped in the wind :-(( so I'm going to apologise in advance for not visiting as many of you as I would like. My internet time is at the local wifi cafe for the near future.

Love Teresa (from a very soggy Kos after heavy thunderstorms ) xx :-)

"Basking"

Not me. . . . . although I will happily bask in the sun when I can . . . .but this anemone.

I love these beautiful flowers and believe it or not the wild ones are in full bloom in January each year. There is a place I know where there is an olive grove whose floor that covered with these gorgeous flowers every Winter . . . .such a beautiful sight.

This one is actually a garden variety that pops up in the garden each Spring. It really did seem to be enjoying the sunshine, hence the title.

So this is my entry today over at Photo Art Friday http://www.pixeldustphotoart.com/

Texture Tuesday "Gratitude"

Over at KimKlassen cafe today the theme is "gratitude"

I've chosen to work on this picture of some little Greek fishing boats in a tiny harbour on the island of Kalymnos. I must admit I really struggled with the theme but on looking at these  boats I thought of how grateful all fishermen must be to reach the safety of harbour after a rough trip.. . . .  .I suppose it's a metaphor for life really . . . .. I know I'm so grateful to have found my safe harbour in God's loving arms.

The textures I used were "walnut ink" "grunge" and "magic"

                                       . . . . . . . and this is a snapshot of the layers panel.

Here's the link to the cafe  . . . . . . . . . . . .

Start of the weekend

It's a bit windy here this morning but the sun is shining and it's Saturday morning . . . . . .

With Autumn approaching in this half of the world and the days beginning to shorten quite dramatically now, I cheered myself up with this picture of Spring.

It was taken in the early morning and everything looked so fresh and joyful, brimming with life and energy. . . . . .so . . . . here's hoping it fills you all with the same thing.
